What is Direct Care therapy?
Direct Care Therapy is a structured, monthly approach to therapy designed to provide greater consistency, continuity, and depth. Instead of paying per session, care is organized around a predictable monthly structure with clear expectations and pacing.
This model supports steadier progress and reduces disruption often caused by scheduling gaps or insurance limitations.
How is Direct Care different from traditional therapy?
Traditional therapy is typically billed session by session and may be shaped by insurance requirements, availability, or authorization limits.
Direct Care:
Emphasizes continuity and containment
Provides predictable monthly care
Reduces administrative disruptions
Allows therapy to progress at a more intentional pace
Both models are valid; the best fit depends on your needs and preferences.
What Direct Care options are available?
Direct Care Therapy is offered in structured monthly tiers, based on clinical need and level of support.
Foundation Direct Care

2 therapy sessions per month
Priority scheduling within availability
Integrated therapeutic tools
Designed for clients seeking depth with a lighter monthly structure
Core Direct Care

Well-suited for ongoing trauma-informed work
Intensive Direct Care

Tier placement is collaborative and may change over time based on clinical needs.
Does Direct Care include unlimited access or crisis support?
No. Direct Care provides structure and consistency, not unlimited or on-demand access.
Between-session support is limited and non-crisis
Direct Care is not a replacement for emergency or crisis services
Clear boundaries are part of ethical, effective care
Emergency resources are always recommended for urgent needs.
Do you still accept insurance?
Yes. Magnolia Mental Health & Wellness continues to accept select insurance plans for standard session-based therapy when available.
Insurance-based care:
Follows traditional per-session scheduling
May include authorization or medical-necessity requirements
Availability may be limited
We’re happy to help you explore which option is the best fit.
Can I switch between insurance-based care and Direct Care?
Possibly. Transitions are considered thoughtfully and collaboratively to ensure continuity and appropriateness. Not all clients are suited for both models at all times.
Is Direct Care right for everyone?
No — and that’s intentional.
Direct Care may be a good fit if you:
Value consistency and structure
Want deeper, sustained work
Prefer predictable monthly care
Have already tried traditional therapy
It may not be the best fit if you’re seeking brief, crisis-focused, or on-demand support.
Is enrollment limited?
Yes. Direct Care Therapy is offered on a limited-enrollment basis to preserve quality, availability, and clinician sustainability.
Availability is not guaranteed.
